Verdie Marr Powell, 88, of the 1700 block of Maycraft Road, a homemaker, died Nov. 20, 1994, in Sentara Nursing Home.
Mrs. Powell was born in Lewiston, N.C. She was the widow of George E. Powell Sr. and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Norfolk. She was a past member of O.E.S. Elizabeth Chapter 45.
Survivors include three daughters, Margaret L. Carlson of Virginia Beach, Bernice Marr Atkins of Virginia Beach and Mary Ann Coggsdale of Suffolk; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Dr. Walker Stockburger. The family will be at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
