HOWARD R. GRAY JR.

Howard R. ``Jack'' Gray Jr., 65, of 7440 Patrician Road, a retired electronics technician, died Nov. 19, 1994, in his residence.

Mr. Gray was born in Edenton, N.C. He had retired from the Norfolk Naval Reworks Facility after 36 1/2 years. He had been retired for 10 years. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He was a holy family retreatant and served as an usher and member of St. Pius Mens Club. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 367 and was past grand Knight and past state deputy. In his earlier years, he was an avid duckpin bowler for O. & R. League.

Survivors include his wife, Hilda S. Gray of Norfolk; two daughters, Jacqueline Riediger of Ladson, S.C. and Helen Parker of Orlando, Fla.; a sister, Shirley A. Elka of Norfolk; a brother, Michael D. Gray Sr. of Waynesboro, Va.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Pius X Catholic Church by Father Joe Metzger. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, for a prayer service followed by visitation today from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the residence all other times. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Pius X School or charity of choice.
