John Christopher Redd Jr., 85, of the 100 block of Wyoming Ave., died Nov. 21, 1994, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mr. Redd was a native of Wilmington, N.C. He was retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a boat builder and was a member of West End United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby S. Redd; a daughter, Patricia R. Seal of Suffolk; three sons, John C. Redd III of Portsmouth, Richard Redd of Suffolk and Robert Redd of Leesville, La.; nine granchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in West End United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert E. Hawkins. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
