Dr. Nancy Bell Sandberg, 59, of 306-C Forest Pine Drive, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 1994, in her home after a long illness.
Dr. Sandberg was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio, and had retired as the dean of instruction and student development at Paul D. Camp Community College. Dr. Sandberg earned her doctorate in higher education and administration from Boston University and received an honorary doctor of laws from Notre Dame College, Manchester, N.H. Dr. Sandberg was a member of the New England Association of Teachers of English, and member emeritus, Deans and Provosts Council of the Virginia Community College System. Dr. Sandberg was past president of the Franklin Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include her husband, Peter Lars Sandberg; her mother, Mary Virginia Watson Bell of Columbus, Miss.; her mother-in-law, Janice W. Sandberg of Rye, N.H.; one sister, Rebecca Bell Sammons of West Lafayette, Ind.; two brothers, Mace H. Bell Jr. of Rowayton, Conn. and Bruce W. Bell of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Dr. Sandberg was predeceased by her father, Mace Hudson Bell.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Dean Nancy Sandberg Scholarship Fund, Paul D. Camp Community College, Frnaklin, Va. 23851.
