CLAUDE W. COLEMAN

Claude W. Coleman, 79, a retired civil service aifcraft mechanic, died Nov. 19, 1994, in Punta Gorda, Fla.

Mr. Coleman was born in Conway, S.C., and was retired from the Norfolk Naval Air Station after 27 years. He was a member of American Legion Post (NU)204 in Norfolk, Moose Lodge in Suffolk, Disabled American Veterans in Suffolk and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Alice D. Coleman; two daughters, Patricia C. Taylor of Manteo, N.C., and Betty Jo Gerhard of Evergreen, Colo.; two sons, James L. Coleman of Avon, N.C., and Harry H. Coleman of Suffolk; a sister, Virginia Gibbons of Newton Falls, Ohio; three brothers, David E. Coleman of Elizabeth City, Kenneth C. Coleman of Mystic Island, N.J., and Carlyle E. Coleman of Hertford, N.C.; and three grandchildren, Challis E. Taylor, Christopher C. Taylor and Shane G. Coleman.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, by Mrs. Eileen J. Lung C.S. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday.
