Spaghetti Warehouse, an Italian-style restaurant chain, has sold a franchise to a Williamsburg resident who plans to open a restaurant on the Peninsula. Gene Chismer of Williamsburg hopes to open the restaurant within the next four months. Chismer is considering two separate sites in the Victory Center in Newport News. The new Spaghetti Warehouse will be a one-story, 8,000-square-foot building that seats about 250 people. Meanwhile, the Olive Garden - another Italian-style restaurant chain - is planning to open a restaurant in Hampton's Mercury Central area. The new Olive Garden will seat about 225 people and create some 125 jobs. (AP) by CNB
