I served 30 years on active duty in the U.S. Navy. I have continued my commitment and involvement in national defense in the private sector for the past seven years.
Some have claimed that to tell the truth about the diminished state of our armed forces is somehow unpatriotic and bad for ``troop morale.''
Nothing could be more unpatriotic than to stand silently by as training, manpower, equipment and logistics are cut to dangerous levels, which encourages international adventurism, while the administration continues to increase our commitments throughout the world.
Having experienced the same phenomena during the Carter administration, I know what that does to morale.
