Pedro F. Zamora, 56, of the 3800 block of Betsy Crescent, died Nov. 21, 1994, in his residence.
Mr. Zamora, a native of El Salvador, Central America, immigrated to this country in 1970 and later became a naturalized citizen of the United States. For 10 years he was chef of the French restaurant, La Crepe, located on 56th Street in New York City, which was the flagship restaurant of the La Crepe chain and later of the El Coho Restaurant located at the South Street Seaport in lower Manhattan. Mr. Zamora suffered a stroke in 1989. Unable to work, he remained with his friend and companion of 25 years, Edward G. Williams. In February 1994, Messrs. Zamora and Williams sold their home in Brooklyn, N.Y., and relocated to Virginia Beach.
Mr. Zamora is survived by his friend and companion, Edward G. Williams; a sister, Carmen Moran and a brother, Jose Zamora, both of Santa Ana, El Salvador; six nephews and nieces living in El Salavador; and a niece, Teresa Navarrette, three nephews and several cousins living in the United States.
A funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Friday in Virginia Beach Christian Church, Great Neck Road and Roseball Drive, by Dr. William Austin. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the funeral. Altmeyer Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
