Katie J. Baynes of the 3800 block of Honeytree Lane died Nov. 22, 1994.
Mrs. Baynes was born in Princess Anne County and was the widow of Joseph Baynes. She was a member of Union Kemspville Baptist Church, the Deaconess Board, Missionary Circle and was a B.Y.P.U. member. She was the oldest member of the church.
Survivors include two adopted sons, Clifton Daughtry and John E. Daughtry, both of Virginia Beach; two nieces, Mary Sue Haynes of Bronx, N.Y., and Rosie V. Daughtry of Virginia Beach; a nephew, Wendell G. Thomas of Hampton; cousins Bertha Knight and Louise Roberts, her caretakers, both of Virginia Beach; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Union Kempsville Baptist Church by the Rev. L.R. Daughtry. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk, is handling arrangements.
