World AIDS Day will be observed Thursday, Dec. 1, with events to honor those whose lives have been affected by AIDS and to offer hope for an AIDS-free future.
The Chrysler Museum, in association with local arts groups, will serve as host to a program of performing arts beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the Museum Theater, 245 W. Olney Road.
The hourlong program will include the poetry of Edna St. Vincent Millay, read by a Virginia Stage Company representative. Sam Dorsey of Tidewater Classical Guitar Society will perform, and Frank Bove of Virginia Ballet Theatre will perform with his Magnet School children.
Michael Robbins, executive director of Tidewater AIDS Crisis Taskforce will speak about AIDS' impact on individuals and families.
