FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD Michael Moreno knows that video games aren't a waste of time.
In fact, the countless hours he spent playing Nintendo and Super Nintendo did more than irk his parents and rot his brain. The practice helped him win a first place in the Blockbuster Super Nintendo Area Championship of Tidewater and a trip to Florida, where he participated in the Blockbuster 1994 World Game Championships.
But this Catholic High sophomore doesn't spend all of his time in front of the TV screen. Michael enjoys basketball, soccer and collecting Pez dispensers.
