BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU ISSUES GUIDE ON CHARITIES

The holiday season is a time for giving - and that's not lost on charitable organizations, which typically step up their solicitation appeals at year's end.

To help would-be donors evaluate the many contribution requests, the Council of Better Business Bureaus has issued a special free holiday edition of its bimonthly newsletter, ``Give, But Give Wisely.''

Included is advice on how to make informed giving decisions and a list of those charitable, educational and religious organizations generating the greatest number of inquiries to the CBBB.

The list indicates which charities meet the CBBB's 22 voluntary ethical standards.

For a free copy of the newsletter, send a self-addressed, stamped business-sized envelope to ``Give Wisely,'' Council of Better Business Bureaus, 4200 Wilson Blvd., Suite 800, Arlington, VA 22203. (Staff)
