Esther E. James, 75, of the 1000 block of Robinson Road and formerly of the 1500 block of Green St., died Nov. 23, 1994, in Maryview Medical Center.
Mrs. James was born in Norfolk County and was the widow of Frank J. James. She was a member of Church of God-Saints of Christ, Belleville, Suffolk.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Wright of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Alice Riddick of Portsmouth; five sons, James H. Wright, Eugene C. James and Lawrence L. James, all of Portsmouth, William E. Wright of Suffolk and Frank James Jr. of Chesapeake; a sister, Mary Wright of Portsmouth; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday in Church of God-Saints of Christ Tabernacle, Suffolk, by Evangelist C.C. Farrar. Burial will be in Belleville Cemetery, Suffolk. Viewing will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday in Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Sunday.
