Home delivery of Thursday's edition of The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star was delayed to many subscribers, mostly in Virginia Beach.
An unusually large holiday newspaper contributed to unanticipated production problems. Your news carrier was not to blame for the delays.
To make matters worse, there was a breakdown in our telephone system in Norfolk, making it difficult for readers to call our circulation department.
Despite efforts of production and circulation personnel, delivery could not be completed to some subscribers. They will receive their Thursday edition today.
We sincerely regret the delays in delivery of The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star, especially on a holiday when we know many readers look forward to receiving their newspaper. by CNB
