Newt Gingrich - an Army brat who grew up in Harrisburg, Pa., France,

Germany and Georgia - speaks proudly of his childhood. But Gingrich

``The Great Santini,'' which was about a boy's struggle to prove

himself to his father, an overbearing military officer.
