Ponder the lot of animals used for fur coats.
Animals on ``ranches'' are not put to sleep peacefully. They live in tiny, filthy cages only to be killed by methods such as suffocation and neck-breaking. The isolation and environmental deprivation are enough to make many animals go insane.
Trapped animals may suffer excruciating pain for hours or even days. If an animal is still alive, the trapper stomps on its throat so the coat isn't ruined. Some animals chew off their own limb to escape, only to run off and bleed to death.
In the past, fur was a sign of vanity and fame. Now, most people won't be caught in it. What used to be glamorous is now almost out of style.
Wearing fur is a dying fashion.
