Students at Hunt-Mapp Middle School participated in a two-week food drive for to provide Thanksgiving baskets for the needy. Through students' efforts, 1,300-plus cans of food provided 42 baskets for needy families.
The school presented six baskets to Sarah Tabernacle No. 141 Love and Charity Lodge, for distribution. The remaining 36 baskets were to be given to needy students' families and the Salvation Army.
Teachers Windell Foster, Julia Futrell-Randall, Margaret Calvin, Lillie Stromberg and the Hunt-Mapp School Improvement Team coordinated the effort.
Food Lion donated turkeys and provided discounts on other items. by CNB
