Students at Rosemont Forest Elementary School have collected more
than 1,200 cans of food to donate to the Salvation Army this year.
There were enough cans to line the school's interior hallway, which
goes all the way around the square-shaped building. This was the
seventh year that the 650 students of Rosemont Forest have collected
canned goods for the needy. Anne Beck, one of the teacher sponsors
for the program, and Ashley Sykes, 8, push a cartful to an awaiting
van. Crew members from the guided-missle cruiser Mississippi were
there to transport the goods.
