Ethel Mae Tavares, 74, of the 2400 block of Livesay Road, died November 25, 1994, in a hospital.
Mrs. Tavares, a native of Lansing, Ohio, was the widow of Henry J. Tavares. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bower's Hill, and she was a member of St. Ann's Society.
Survivors include her two daughters, Becky Moore of Chesapeake and Beth Sharrett of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a son, Henry Tavares Jr. of Vernon Hill, Ill.; two sisters, Mary Vann and Esther Hadsell, both of Portsmouth; and six grandchildren.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bower's Hill, by the Rev. Charles J. Faul. Burial will be Tuesday 11 a.m. in Rosewood Memorial Park with Foster Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to American Lung Association.
