WILLARD I. BABB

Willard Ira Babb, 81, died at his residence Saturday, Nov. 26, 1994.

He was born in Portsmouth Island, N.C., to the late William Henry and Mary Elizabeth Newton Babb. Mr. Babb was the husband of Virginia Tebault Babb. He was retired from the Ford Motor Co. as a metalsmith with 25 1/2 years of service. He was a Methodist, a member of Ocean View Masonic Lodge (NU)335 and was a 32nd degree Master Mason and a member of the Norview Order of the Royal Arch (NU)62.

Besides his wife of 60 years, he is survived by two daughters, Joyce B. Smith and Gloria B. Cherry, both of Chesapeake; three sons, Louis Babb and William Babb, both of Pointe Harbor, N.C., and Josseph Babb of Chesapeake; nine granchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. in Good Hope United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Copeland officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will be accorded in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Ocean View Masonic Lodge (NU)335, AF & AM. Twiford Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, is in charge of arrangements.
