RAISING MONEY: POLITICS VS. MINISTRY

Having spent vacations in Chincoteague and Virginia Beach since 1976, and with plans to retire in Chincoteague, I followed the campaign between Chuck Robb and Oliver North in the month I visited this summer.

As a born-again Christian and United Methodist, Jesus' teaching about feeding the hungry, clothing the naked and taking care of the sick is very important to me.

I believe the Rev. Pat Robertson, the Rev. Jerry Falwell and the religious right of Virginia could have been blessed by our Lord if the $20 million dollars they helped raise had been used feeding, clothing and taking care of the sick instead of wasting it on a pathetic liar and convicted felon, Oliver North, for the Virginia senate race.
