Eleanor J. Askew, died Monday, Nov. 28, 1994, in Guardian Care Nursing Home.
She was born in New Orleans, La., was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and former Sister of the Sisters of the Holy Family of New Orleans. She was retired from the Department of Labor in New York City and had taught school in New Orleans Liberty Texas School.
Survivors include her husband, Chester Askew; a daughter, Claudia L. Askew of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Althea Simons of New Orleans and Marion Gray of La Place, La.; two brothers, Roland Ketchens and Lester Ketchens, both of New Orleans.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Charles Catholic Church by the Rev. James F.X. Healey, S.J. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Reynolds Funeral Home, Ahoskie, is handling arrangements.
