LAURA ELIZABETH SEARS CARSON

Laura Carson, 92, of the 1600 block of Holladay St., Portsmouth, went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, Sunday, Nov. 27, 1994.

She was the widow of Wade H. Sears and B.R. Carson.

Mrs. Carson was a member of Park View Baptist Church and a former member of Westhaven Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and in WMU. She was a former president of the Westhaven Neighborly Club and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary (NU)993. She owned Sears Azalea Gardens.

Survivors include a daughter, Erma Sears Cooke, and her husband, Robert Cooke Sr. of Portsmouth; two sons, Wade H. Sears Jr. of Norfolk and Milton E. Sears Sr. of Fredericksburg, Va.; a sister, Elsie Owens Ripley of Portsmouth; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted today at 11 a.m. in Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. W. Thomas Wood. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will be at 107 Shore Drive, Portsmouth (off Elmhurst Lane). Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes or Heart Associations.
