MATTIE H. WILLIAMS

Mattie Hurt Williams, 85, of the 200 block of S. Newtown Road, a homemaker, died Monday, Nov. 28, 1994, in a Norfolk nursing home.

Mrs. Williams was born in Farmville, Va., and was the widow of John A. Williams.

Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Putnam of Chesapeake; a son, John A. Williams Jr. of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Lillian Mann of Farmville, Va. and Lucille Widgins of Crewe, Va.; a brother, Ben F. Hurt of Crozet, Va.; and two grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Va., by the Rev. Dr. Walter Kennedy. There will be no viewing or visitation at the funeral home. Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, Portsmouth, is handling arrangements. The family suggests memorials be made to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, Norfolk, Va. 23507, or to the EDMARC Hospice Program.
