OSCAR TOOLE

Oscar ``Charlie'' Toole, 73, of Little John Drive, died Nov. 28, 1994, in a local hospital.

Mr. Toole was born in Montgomery, Ala. He had retired from the Public Works Department of the City of Norfolk as an inspector. He was a faithful member of Coleman Place Presbyterian Church and served as an elder and deacon. He was a longstanding member of the Men's Bible Class and the Adult Choir. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose 39; VFW Post 4809; American Legion Post 204; Fleet Reserve Branch 60; and Senior Citizen Tarrallton Recreation Center. He also retired from the U.S. Navy after 22 years. He was a veteran of WWII, Korean and Vietnam wars.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margie Toole and loving daughter, Brenda Lee McCorkle and son-in-law, Bill McCorkle; his mother, Millie Shields of Deatsville, Ala.; three brothers, Johnnie Toole and Joe Toole, both of Montgomery, Ala. and Sam Toole of Guymon, Okla.; two granddaughters, Heather and Kristin of Columbus, Ohio; and one great-grandson, Hunter of Columbus, Ohio.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Larry Miles. Burial with military honors will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The Fleet Reserve and V.F.W. rites will be accorded in the funeral home at 7 p.m.
