A Manteo man has been indicted by a federal grand jury, charged with illegally re-entering the United States.
Federal prosecutors said Tuesday that Antonio Allen Walcott, 31, of Route 1, Manteo, was deported after commission of an aggravated felony, and returned to the area.
The indictment, handed down on Nov. 22, came following an investigation by the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
If convicted, Walcott could receive a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years probation.
A trial date for Walcott has not been set. by CNB
