THREE NORFOLK SHOOTINGS LEAVE THREE INJURED

Police are investigating three separate shootings that wounded three people Tuesday night.

Police spokesman Larry Hill gave these accounts:

At 7:30 p.m. three men burst into a home in the 2800 block of Corprew Ave. and tried to rob the residents. The residents exchanged gunfire with the robbers, and two people were wounded. A resident was shot in the head and leg, and a robber was shot in the side. No names or conditions were available, but Hill said the injuries did not appear life-threatening.

About 10 minutes later, in the 700 block of E. Little Creek Road, a man was found shot and seriously wounded in a Kmart parking lot. The victim was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Investigators sought two male suspects.

In the third incident, a man and woman were approached by robbers as they got out of a car in the 8500 block of Chesapeake Blvd. just after 9:30 p.m. Both ran, and the robbers chased them. Shots were fired at the fleeing man, but no one was hurt.

No suspects in the shootings were in custody late Tuesday, Hill said.

Anyone with information about the crimes is asked to call 441-5100.
