LILLIE M. SLOAN

Lillie M. Sloan, 88, of the 3300 block of Wise St., died Nov. 28, 1994, in Sentara Bayside Hospital, Virginia Beach.

Mrs. Sloan was born in Bells Cross, N.C., and was the widow of Joseph E. Sloan. She was a member of Vine Memorial Baptist Church, Philadelphia, was a former secretary of Helping Hand Club and member of the Flower Club and Missionary Society.

Survivors include four daughters, Lillie E. Sloan of Norfolk, Joyce Conner, Doris Johnson and Arlethia Sloan of Philadelphia; two sons, Thomas E. Sloan of Norfolk and Joseph A. Sloan of Philadelphia; a sister, Mamie Witherspoon of Chesapeake; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Shiloh Baptist Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. John H. Foster. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The body will be in church at 9:30 a.m. Friday. The family will assemble at 3341 Wise St., Norfolk. Fitchett Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
