The Rev. Charles H. Bowens II, a School Board member, recently was elected chairman of a regional group of school board members.
The group, comprised of representatives from across Hampton Roads, is one of nine affiliates of the Virginia School Boards Association. Bowens was elected during the association's annual conference in Williamsburg, which ended Nov. 18. He previously served as the regional group's vice chairman.
The regional affiliates try to find solutions to shared problems and help the umbrella organization set policy. As chairman, Bowens is an automatic member of the VSBA's state board of directors. by CNB
