WILLIAM P. PAINTER

William Perry Painter, 73, of the 200 block of Gruen St., a retired crane mechanic, died Nov. 30, 1994, in his residence.

He was a native of Falls Mills, Va. He retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Ward of Elma, N.Y.; his fiancee, Mary L. Farley of Chesapeake; and two grandsons, Ed Hartman and Jim Hartman, both of Elma, N.Y.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
