Nathan Shade Lane, 19, of 303 Old Swamp Road, South Mills, died Tuesday afternoon in the Rex Hospital, Raleigh. He was born in Norfolk, Va. and lived in South Mills. Nathan was the son of Ervin and Ina Dungan Lane of South Mills. He was a student at N.C.S.U., a 1993 graduate of Camden High School and a member of the McBride United Methodist Church..
Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Adam W. Lane and David B. Lane both of South Mills; maternal grandmother, Alpha ``Bobbie'' Dungan of Norfolk, Va.; his paternal grandmother, Nancy Lane of Edenton, N.C. Also, he is survived by his fiancee, Susan C. Eason of South Mills, and by uncles and aunts, Doug and Candy Murray of Elizabeth City, William J. and Jan Dungan of Virginia Beach, Va. and Jimmy and Lee Gigliotti of Virginia Beach, Va.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church by Rev. Carolyn Smith, Rev. Stanley Nixon and Dr. Doug Murray. Burial will follow in the Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton. The family will receive friends and relatives at Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Church St., Elizabeth City Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at other times, the family will be at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Doug Murray, 308 W. Main St., Elizabeth City.
