Malinda Joyce Gatling, 49, of the 300 block of Killian Ave., died Nov. 29, 1994 in Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth.
Mrs. Gatling was born in Portsmouth. She was a former clerk and manager for R.A. Powell Cleaners for 25 years and a member of St. John Baptist Church and the Voices of St. John Choir.
Survivors include her parents, Rosa Lee Gatling and C. Willie Gatling of New York, N.Y.; two brothers, Craig Gatling of Atlanta, Ga., and Corlis Gatling of New York, N.Y.; paternal grandmother, Nancy Myers of Portsmouth; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. John E. Jones. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon today. The body will be taken to the church at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The family will be at the home of Susie Boykin, 1311 Lindsay Ave., Portsmouth, and will assemble there for the funeral service.
