EARNEST RICKS

Earnest ``Chief'' Ricks, 67, of the 500 block of Babbney Court died Nov. 29, 1994 in Veterans Hospital, Hampton.

Mr. Ricks was born in Emporia, Va., and was self-employed in auto body repair.

Survivors include his wife, Ireatha Ricks; two daughters, Margie Dowdy and Virginia Gatlin and four sons, Earnest G. Ricks, Rodney Ricks Sr., Terry Ricks and Jerry Ricks, all of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Minnie M. Jackson and Rosa L. Lucas, both of New York; two brothers, Samuel G. Ricks of New York and John F. Ricks of North Carolina; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; close friends Lucile Smith and children, Arthur Creecy and Leroy Parham; very special friend Ronnie Chapman; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday at Greater St. Andrews A.M.E. Church, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. William Grant. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Metropolitan Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Family and friends will assemble at 512 Babbney Court, Virginia Beach, at 11 a.m. Saturday for funeral processional to the church.
