DOROTHY DEWBERRY HARRELL

Dorothy Dewberry Harrell, 87 died Saturday, December 3, 1994 in a local nursing home. She lived at the L.H. Roper Home for over 3 years. She was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary E. Dewberry.

Mrs. Harrell was born in Chesapeake, Va. She was the widow of Forrest Mansfield Harrell, Sr. and was a member of Miles Memorial United Methodist Church in the Ocean View area of Norfolk.

Mrs. Harrell and her husband were life long members of International Order of Oddfellows and Rebekah Lodge. Mrs. Harrell was past Noble Grand and received the Decoration of Chivalry in her Rebekah Lodge.

Married for 60 years, Mrs. Harrell was a devoted homemaker, and will be remembered for her deep affection for children, flowers and people in need.

She is survived by two loving children: a daughter, Mrs. Shirley E. Partlow of Virginia Beach and a son, Forrest M. Harrell, Jr. of Norfolk; as well as two sisters, Mrs. Margaret T. Osmundson of Disputanta, Va., and Mrs. Virginia Weeks of Lakeland, FL. There are three grandchildren, Dr. Jill Darlene Partlow, Miss Cheryl Leigh Edwards and Mr. Kenneth Lloyd Partlow, Jr.; and a great-grandchild, Keith Lloyd Partlow; and there are many nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at which time the family will receive friends.

A memorial service will be conducted by the Rev. Morris Bennett, Pastor of Miles Memorial United Methodist Church, in Riverside Memorial Park on Tuesday, December 6, 1994, at 11 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Foundation.
