BERTHA W. THOMPSON

Bertha W. Thompson, 73, a retired dietician, died Dec. 1, 1994, in Richmond.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Emporia, Va. She had retired from the Norfolk Public School system after over 20 years. She was the widow of Harold L. Thompson and was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and the Gospel Choir.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Thompson of Richmond; a sister, Harriett Ann Woodhouse of Norfolk; three brothers, Jerry Woodhouse Sr. of Paterson, N.J., George Woodhouse of Norfolk and Edmond Woodhouse of New Jersey; and a host of nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Blanche Woodhouse and Mary Woodhouse of Paterson, N.J.; one mother-in-law, Rebecca Johnson of Williamston, N.C.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. I. Joseph Williams. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. E.A. Hughes Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The family will be at 2806 Hollister Ave. at 11 a.m. A wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.
