EDWARD O'HARA OWNS COUNTRY LEGENDS, A RESTAURANT/NIGHTCLUB

Ed O'Hara says his life is like a roll of the dice. If he doesn't like the way things are going, he rolls on to something new.

For now, O'Hara, who helped organize the first Ocean View St. Patrick's Day parade in 1968 and who has owned lounge/restaurants featuring country, disco and rock 'n' roll, is sticking with what he's got - a country format at his Country Legends on General Booth Boulevard.

A steak-and-potatoes (perhaps that's the Irish coming out in him) type of guy, he's also fond of kicking back in his easy chair and watching Notre Dame football.

Full name: Edward William O'Hara.

Hometown: Scranton, Pa.

What brought you to the Beach? New town, new business.

Birthdate: Oct. 23, 1934.

Occupation: Restaurant and nightclub owner.

Nickname: Big O

Marital status: Married.

Children: 2.

What is your idea of a perfect day off? Sitting at home in my favorite chair, watching Notre Dame football.

Last smart thing you did: Opening Country Legends.

Last dumb thing you did: Selling my stock in Bank of Tidewater.

Favorite meal: Steak and potatoes.

Favorite movies: ``Quiet Man,'' ``A Few Good Men,'' ``Tombstone.''

Favorite song: ``When Irish Eyes Are Smiling.''

Last book read: ``Down All The Days'' by Christie Brown.

Hobbies: Skeet shooting.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? Spend more time with my family.

If you could change one thing about your spouse, what would it be? Stop her from spending all my money.

Secret vice: Ice cream.

Favorite restaurant: There are so many. I couldn't choose a particular one.

Your favorite night on the town: Dinner and socializing with good friends.

Favorite TV shows: ``Law and Order,'' ``NYPD Blue,'' Monday night football.

Favorite sport: Football and boxing.

Last vacation: Aruba with wife and children.

Pets: None.

Worst job: Unloading ammunition while in the Navy.

Of what achievements are you most proud? My family and having the chance to own my own business.

What would you like on your epitaph? It's been a great ride. I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
