3 TEENAGE ESCAPEES RETURN TO RICHMOND AFTER ARREST, HEARING

Three teenage escapees from a Richmond-area juvenile home were returned to the facility Tuesday after their arrest Monday night at a Newport News apartment complex.

The two 17-year-olds and one 15-year-old were given a detention hearing early Tuesday in Newport News, said police spokeswoman Patricia L. Mahaffy.

They escaped from the juvenile home in the Bon Air area of Richmond on Dec. 3, she said.

The teens were arrested Monday at the Heritage Trace Apartments in the 3600 block of Campbell Road after suspicious residents telephoned police. The three were charged with escaping custody and trespassing, Mahaffy said. by CNB
