POSITIVE REPORTING

WTKR-TV 3 News' recent series, ``What's Right With Our Public Schools,'' was very refreshing.

Public education was portrayed in a positive light. Too often the media and others seem to participate in school bashing, blaming many of society's ills on the supposed shortcomings of the public schools. Focusing on strengths is much more constructive than harping on perceived deficiencies.

I am sure that WTKR did not have to look very hard to find exemplary programs in our area. I know that Virginia Beach public schools have many successful programs of their own. I propose that one could visit any of our schools and find innovative programs in action. Kudos to WTKR.
