MARY V. SWORD

Mary Virginia Sword, a retired bookkeeper, died Dec. 6, 1994, in her home.

She was born in Norfolk and was retired from civil service. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She also taught school as a substitute in Christ The King Catholic School and in Catholic schools in Florida.

Survivors include her mother, Fannie S. Sword of Norfolk; a brother, Cmdr. Curtis Sterling Sword Jr. of San Diego, Calif.; two nephews, Scott Sword and Curtis Sword III of California; a niece, Kimberly Mandell of Louisiana; two aunts, Mary Georgiades of Sarasota, Fla., and Virginia Lowe of Norfolk; an uncle, Anthony Scellato of Indiana. Miss Sword was precedeased by her father, Lt. Curtis S. Sword.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Holy Trinity Catholic Church by the Rev. Lou Rouff. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive friends in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
