Rather than cutting the traditional ribbon, company and city officials observed the grand opening of the new BJ's Wholesale Club in Chesapeake by breaking through a 6-foot loaf of Italian bread.
BJ's 116,000-square-foot facility at 2301 Taylor Road Blvd. offers businesses and consumers national name-brand food and merchandise, including a bakery. The Chesapeake store is BJ's sixth in Virginia and its 59th nationally.
The store will operate from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Membership in BJ's Wholesale Club costs $30 a year and includes a second card for another member of the household. by CNB
