MARVIN T. HURLEY

Marvin T. ``Marv'' Hurley, 60, a resident of the 1100 block of Bedford Ave., passed away due to an extended bout with cancer on Nov. 21, 1994, at the family homeplace, Philippi, W.Va., of James B. Talbot, his friend and companion for 28 years.

He was born May 11, 1934, at Lake Charles, La., a son of the late Ivan M. and Edith Langley Hurley.

Surviving are one brother, Monte Hurley of Lake Charles, La.; longtime friend, James B. Talbot of Norfolk; and a large host of other friends.

He was the administrative assistant to the Norfolk Public Health Chief Medical Examiner from Feb. 1958 through Nov. 1973, a former employee of the Norfolk Department of Social Services and retird as a senior eligibility worker from the Chesapeake Department of Social Services. He was also co-owner of T & H Antiques from 1969 until his death.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Cox Funeral Home Chapel, 631 Westover Ave., Norfolk, by Dr. Lewis H. Morgan of Larchmont United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to People's Hospice, Inc., P.O. Box 382, Clarksburg, W.Va. 26301, or to the Tidewater (Norfolk) Virginia SPCA, or the Tidewater Animal Assistance League.
