Fletcher Eustace Brown Walden of the 7600 block of S. Quay Road, died Dec. 7, 1994, in Obici Hospital.
A native of Nansemond County, he retired as a brickmason and a farmer. He was a World War II veteran. Mr. Walden was a member of Mount Sinai Baptist Church, Suffolk, and American Legion Post (NU)315, Holland.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Jean Walden; three daughters, Marita Walden-Cotten of Suffolk, Pamela Ardelle Walden of Norfolk and Karen Arnita Stephens of Laurel, Md.; grandchildren, Rebecca Jean Cotten and Matthew Andrell Cotten; three sisters, Juanita W. Barnes of Suffolk, Adelaide W. Waters of Roosevelt Island, N.Y., and Felicia W. Wallace of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; three brothers, Warrick J. Walden and Frank L. Walden, both of Suffolk, and Allison A. Walden of Smithfield; a son-in-law, Robert E. Stephens; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the son of the late Willis Weaver Walden and Ellen Brown Walden.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Mount Sinai Baptist Church, Suffolk. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church by 11 a.m. Saturday. A wake will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Crocker Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Mount Sinai Baptist Church Family Life Center Building Fund, 6100 Holyneck Road, Suffolk, Va.
