State Police said Kevin T. Frueh of the 3000 block of Kansas Ave. died late Wednesday at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
A state police spokeswoman said Frueh was crossing an off-ramp to Tidewater Drive from eastbound I-64 when the accident occurred at 6:40 p.m. Dec. 2.
Frueh was carrying a six-pack of beer under his arm and was apparently intoxicated when he was hit. Police said he may not have been aware of his surroundings.
