Margaret Slade Phelps, 71, a retired office manager, died Dec. 8, 1994, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Phelps was born in Bertie County, N.C., and was retired from Pilot Life Insurance after 20 years. She was a member of Bethany Freewill Baptist Church, Norfolk.
Survivors include her husband, Leslie C. Phelps; two sons, Leslie C. Phelps Jr. of Tyler, Texas, and Michael P. Phelps of Norfolk; her mother, Sarah Elizabeth Marshall of Virginia Beach; a brother, Harvey K. Slade of Virginia Beach; four grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Bethany Freewill Baptist Church by the Rev. Larry Davis. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
