Blanche Ridley Whitehead, 75, of the 24000 block of Thomaston Road, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 1994, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Whitehead was born in Severn, N.C. She was a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church, Newsoms, and the Missionary Society of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Newsoms.
Survivors include three daughters, Elsie W. Brown of Norfolk, Bernice Everett of Newsoms and Dorothy Renton of Boykins; three sons, Roger J. Ridley, David L. Whitehead of Portsmouth and Vernon L. Whitehead of Virginia Beach; four sisters, Annie Branche, Vernice Burrough of Norfolk, Edith Blue and Clara Barnes, both of Portsmouth; 24 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Tabor Baptist Church by the Rev. R.S. Steele. Burial will be in Odom Chapel Cemetery, Newsoms. William M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, is handling arrangements.
