WILLIAM C. PITTMAN

William Carlton Pittman of the 1200 block of Elmhurst Lane, a retired boilermaker, died Dec. 12, 1994, in a Portsmouth hospital.

Mr. Pittman was a native of Whittakers, N.C. He was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Shop 41, after 32 years. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, Portsmouth.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Pittman; a daughter, Jill Nichols and her husband, David of Virginia Beach; a son, Nicholas Harrell Pittman of High Point, N.C.; and a brother, R.T. Pittman of Whittakers, N.C.

A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Central Baptist Church by Dr. U.G. Robertson. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
