Maury, which went unbeaten in Eastern District play, earned four spots on the all-district field hockey team as voted by the coaches.
Commodores named to the first team were Sally Roman, senior centerlink; Katie Joyner, senior left wing; Katie Roman, junior right wing; Meredith Whibley, senior center back.
Sally Roman and Joyner led Maury in scoring with 12 goals each. Sally, who made the first all-district team last year, also contributed seven assists for a total of 31 points and was awarded Maury's Lady Commodore sports award for field hockey.
``Sally has very good stick work,'' Maury coach Pat Panzik said. ``Also, she really understands the game. She was our quarterback; she set up the plays, which takes a lot of knowledge about the game.
``Katie (Joyner) has tremendous speed and a very good conception of the game.''
Katie Roman scored five goals and had eight assists. Whibley had two goals and three assists.
``Katie (Roman) is an excellent player,'' Panzik said. ``She is fast and can play any position on the field. She's a well-rounded athlete.
``Meredith played goalkeeper the previous two seasons, but she really wanted to play the field this year. I was concerned about her stick work, but she played remarkably well. She did a really great job.''
Representing Norview are Tennille Toomer, Taschell Coaxum, Norview's center half and defensive MVP, and Dawn Anderson.
Toomer, a senior right inner and the Pilots' most valuable player on offense, scored five goals with two assists.
Coaxum, a center half, was the Pilots' MVP on defense and scored five goals. Anderson, a left wing, also scored five goals.
Lake Taylor's first-team players are Stephanie Lynch, Elizabeth Riedel and Angela Riedel.
Lynch led the Titans with four goals and four assists.
