Mary Margaret McFadden Tippett, 75, died Dec. 14, 1994.
Mrs. Tippett was a native of Philadelphia and was a resident of the peninsula for 40 years. She retired from Jack Tippett Custom Homes, Inc. as secretary/treasurer after 27 years. She was a member of Warwick Memorial United Methodist Church, where she had been a member of the Bell Choir. She had volunteered at Mary Immaculate Hospital and St. Francis Nursing Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary T. ``Joy'' Whitley of Chesapeake; a son, Jay C. Tippett Sr. of Newport News; two sisters, Doris E. Shaw of St. Louis and Margaret Hart of Newport News; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Umphlett Funeral Home, Newport News, by the Rev. J. Stanley Hargraves. Cremation was at the Hampton Memorial Gardens Crematory. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Nursing Center.
