EDWARD W. BRITT SR.

Edward William Britt Sr., 66, of 401 Sunset Circle, Madison Heights, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 1994, in Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was the husband of Glennie Latham Britt.

Born in North Carolina, Jan. 1, 1928, he was the son of the late Hubert D. Britt and the late Susie Fowler Britt. He was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, a member of Clinton Masonic Lodge (NU)73, AF & AM, and a life member of the Madison Heights Lions Club. He retired in 1989 after 35 years of service as district manager of United Insurance Company of America in Madison Heights. After serving almost three decades to the Lynchburg district, he was named to the United Insurance Hall of Fame during the 1990 President's Club Conference.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Bryan Neal Britt of Newport News and Edward W. Britt Jr. of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, Tiffany Britt and Edward Britt III; four sisters, Mildred Lowe of Richmond, Catherine Eure of Suffolk, Emily Bivens of Petersburg and Adel Hazzard of New Jersey; three brothers, Junis Britt of Suffolk, Holoman Britt of Disputanta and Thomas Britt of Ivor.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Whitten Monelison Chapel in Madison Heights by the Rev. Edward Hopkins. Burial will be in the Masonic Garden at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church or the Monelison Rescue Squad.
