Thomas Franklin Owens Sr., formerly of Columbia, N.C., departed this life Dec. 12, 1994.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl F. Owens; children, Michael Owens Sr., Thomas F. Owens Jr., Zan Owens and Antionette O. Teal; grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; stepson, William J. Forrest; aunts; uncles; four daughters-in-law; one son-in-law; other relatives and friends, among them one devoted Vernon Foy.
Upon arrival in Virginia Beach on Friday, his remains will rest at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 310 N. Birdneck Road, after 3 p.m., where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Salem Missionary Baptist Church, Columbia, N.C., with the Rev. David Whitehurst officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Persons attending the funeral kindly assemble at Mount Olive Baptist Church at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. A.D. Price Jr. Funeral Home, Richmond, is in charge of arrangements.
